Historical Note
Prior to Mesa College becoming a four-year baccalaureate institution the faculty representation was limited to a small faculty council that did not represent all academic fields offered on campus. In 1977-1978 President Tomlinson oversaw the establishment of the first faculty senate to enable a greater degree of faculty involvement in the administration of the institution and help Mesa College resemble other baccalaureate-granting institutions. Dr. Thomas Graves served as the first president of the newly established Mesa College Faculty Senate.
